Capturing Powerful Moments as a Corporate Photographer in NYC

As a New York City event photographer, I recently had the opportunity to photograph the BBR Beauty Summit. It is an event dedicated to moving inclusive beauty forward. Instagram and TIRTIR hosted the summit at Meta Headquarters in New York City. Furthermore, they brought together top beauty creators, industry leaders, and emerging creatives.

This corporate event photography opportunity, was produced by Melva LaJoy Legrand, CEO and Executive Producer of LaJoy Productions (DC/Paris). In short, It was a masterclass in storytelling, education, and advocacy. Forbes and Modern Luxury have featured LaJoy Creative for their high-caliber production work. I was honored to work with Melva and her team on such a meaningful project.

Black Beauty Roster (BBR) produced the BBR Beauty Summit and continues to champion its mission to by and large advance diversity and equity in the beauty industry. The 2025 summit focused on hair and makeup equity and inclusive representation in media and production. As a corporate photographer in NYC, documenting this event meant capturing panel discussions, but also the spirit of connection and purpose that filled the room.

Keynote speakers included Taraji P Henson and Michelle Williams, both of whom spoke about the importance of representation and opportunity for Black beauty professionals. Maude Okrah Hunter, founder of BBR, spearheaded the event and brought together a vibrant community of artists, creatives, and educators.
