Caitlin initially asks Ben about his sports teams interests and about local DC topics on Match.com. Caitlin’s first impression of Ben is warm, charming, and he is unapologetically himself. Consequently, they talk for two weeks online before meeting in person.
The first date is at McGinty’s in Silver Spring, however, Cait is a running a whopping 30-minutes late! Caitlin’s sister, who is visiting from out of town, encourages her to go on the date and to NOT cancel. Caitlin already rescheduled once before and Ben probably would not reschedule a second time. Ben’s first impression of Caitlin was smart, engaging, and funny. Within a few minutes of their first date, it is evident that something special is happening between them. They both knew it was the most engaging conversation they’d ever had with another person, but had no idea it would lead to their springtime Omni Shoreham wedding.
Caitlin and her family always run the Chicago Marathon. After months of training with her, Ben decides to propose at Caitlin’s family’s annual marathon after-party. It is Caitlin’s first marathon finish. The party happens to be 5X larger than usual because word has gotten out about Ben’s proposal plan. Ben pulled Caitlin aside and proposed with a gorgeous heirloom ring. She happily accepted and had no idea who to even call because so many of her friends and family were already there with them. Ben called his parents and updated his friends via Google chat that Caitlin had said, “yes”.
Ben met his match with Cait, truly fell in love with her mind, and knew he wanted to be with her for the rest of their lives. Caitlin also feels the universe shift immediately following their first date. They are excited to show friends and family the amazing partners they found in each other, subsequently commit to each other, all while having everyone in attendance to celebrate.
Their Irish springtime Omni Shoreham wedding features bouquets of peonies, roses, and ranunculus from Petals Edge; a traditionally-dressed bagpiper leads guests from the outdoor ceremony to the indoor cocktail hour; a his or hers cigar and whiskey bar; and cupcakes made of red velvet cake among other flavors like Unicorns and Rainbows from Baked and Wired. They entertain guests with a live DJ, a delicious plated meal, and keep the night feeling festive, fresh, and fabulous.
