There is something undeniably romantic about Brooklyn at golden hour. Cobblestone streets, waterfront breezes, historic brick architecture, and skyline views come together to create a setting that feels both cinematic and intimate. As a DUMBO engagement photographer, I design sessions that feel relaxed, natural, and true to each couple.
Stefanie and Brad’s engagement session blended playful candids with romantic, editorial-style portraits while exploring some of the most iconic locations in DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights.
A Romantic Brooklyn Engagement Session in DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights
When planning engagement photos in DUMBO, pacing and location flow are key. Stefanie and Brad wanted their session to feel effortless, with time to move, laugh, and stay fully present. We planned a thoughtful route that allowed for a wide variety of backdrops without feeling rushed.

A Fun and Nostalgic Start to the Session
We began at Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain, one of my favorite starting points for engagement photos in Brooklyn. The pastel storefront, pink benches, and string lights create a joyful, nostalgic feel.
Afterward, Stefanie and Brad shared ice cream, laughed together, and walked hand in hand nearby. These candid moments help couples ease into the session while creating authentic, story-driven images.

Brooklyn Bridge Views and Classic NYC Backdrops
Later, we headed to the Emily Warren Roebling Plaza, where the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline provide a timeless New York backdrop. This location is ideal for couples who want iconic views without feeling overly posed.
At this point, we focused on walking shots, close embraces, and quiet moments as a light breeze added softness and movement to the images.

Certainly, St. Ann’s Warehouse and New Dock Street are perfect for couples drawn to editorial-style engagement photography. The brick arches, industrial textures, and sweeping bridge views add visual depth and character.
Following, Stefanie and Brad leaned into movement here with natural laughter, playful walking shots, and intimate moments, creating a gallery that feels elevated yet effortless.
Golden Hour Engagement Photos at Pebble Beach
Waterfront Views and Soft Evening Light
Without delay, as golden hour peaked, we arrived at Pebble Beach, one of the best locations for DUMBO engagement photos. Soft light, skyline views, and the breeze off the water create a cinematic atmosphere.
Eventually, Stefanie and Brad walked along the shoreline with Jane’s Carousel and the Brooklyn Bridge glowing behind them, creating some of the most romantic moments of the session.

The Iconic Manhattan Bridge View
Afterwards, we ended on Washington Street, home to the iconic Manhattan Bridge framed by brick buildings. A joyful kiss lift on the cobblestones, followed by a classic portrait made for the perfect Brooklyn ending.
Planning Your Own DUMBO Engagement Photography Session
Stefanie and Brad’s session demonstrates how a thoughtfully planned route allows for variety while maintaining a relaxed experience. DUMBO offers waterfront views, historic streets, and architectural backdrops, making it one of the best neighborhoods in Brooklyn for engagement photos.
