In today’s world, sustainability and ethical food choices are increasingly important. Consequently, advancements in alternative protein sources offer a hopeful solution. For this reason, organizations like The Good Food Institute (GFI) are leading the charge. They are diligently working on options such as cultivated meat, plant-based meat, and fermentation. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing a policy symposium at National Academy of Sciences. Experts and industry leaders gathered to shape the future of our food system.
The symposium began with a powerful keynote address, which emphasized the urgent need to improve meat production. As a photographer, my role was to capture the essence of this message. Therefore, I focused on the passion and determination of the speakers. In the long run, they highlighted how alternative proteins could help reduce environmental impact. Indeed, we must modernize meat production for a sustainable future.
Throughout the day, a series of panel discussions and presentations unfolded. These sessions brought together scientists, industry leaders, and policymakers. My goal was to capture their energy and expertise.
