One of my favorite portions of the wedding day are the Bride and Groom portraits. They are some the most timeless, romantic, and authentic photos of the day! Whether you have portraits taken after your First Look before the you walk down the aisle, or if you put aside some time after the ceremony for photos, these the are photos that are passed down through generations.
Why is it important?
Wedding days go by quickly, so it’s important that we set a designated time for photography. If you’ll give me 30 minutes, we can create those classic wedding portraits together. These are the images we put inside our wedding albums, print, put into frames, send to our parents, and show our children. The portraits taken on your wedding day will always remind you of the joy you both shared on your wedding day.
How much time do we need to set aside for bride and groom portraits on the wedding day?
I’ll be honest, I will take all the time you will give me for these photos! The more portrait time, the more options, variations, perspectives, and choices you will have to choose from when it’s time to order prints or a wedding album.
Typically, I like to have 30 minutes to an hour for just the Bride and Groom to take pictures together. We can totally split this up into a couple sections, perhaps 20 minutes during the First Look and then an additional 40 minutes after the ceremony. Or maybe you’d prefer to plan for 30 minutes immediately following your wedding ceremony, mingle with some guests, and then have a 2nd round of Bride and Groom portraiture right before the sunset and reception.
Caroline + Mike 5.27.2017
Caroline and Mike chose to schedule their B&G portrait time after the ceremony and family formals. During their portrait time, guests mingled inside Rockville’s Manor Country Club. The newlyweds were able to have a private moment, a conversation with each other, and relax together for a bit before their introductions, first dance, and toasts.
