On a brisk fall day in late-October, this amazing couple became husband and wife. Their Indian-inspired celebration was infused with tradition, personal touches, and the love of family.
A classic Catholic Ceremony was held at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood in Washington, DC. This is the church where Cynthia and Craig first met each other. During the ceremony, they performed the Indian tradition of blessing the Tali-maala necklace and Manthrakodi. The Tali-maala necklace is the foremost symbol of the Covenant of Marriage in India and the Manthrakodi blessing symbolizes the love and protection that the groom promises to give his bride.
A cocktail hour at the Hilton DoubleTree in Silver Spring, Maryland followed the reception. Guests spent time catching up with friends and family. Aside from being completely compatible with each other and being clearly, dearly in love, these two also have a heart for serving others. Everyone in attendance was thrilled for this couple’s marriage. For their first dance, they placed Ben Folds “The Luckiest” and the reception hall was bursting with emotion. These two lovebirds are so passionate about each other!
