It was a grand and golden, cool fall day in early November. The leaves had just peaked their changing colors and were finally beginning to fall. Cate’s romantic blush-colored wedding gown glowed in the window of the her getting-ready room at DC’s historic Hay-Adams Hotel. Mother- and Sister-of-the-Bride swirled around the room helping to finalize every bridal detail.
Cate wore her Great, Great Grandmother’s diamond and opal ring, with an all-white floral Calla Lily bouquet. Her dress featured a tulle ball gown silhouette with lace embellishments. Steven wore a black tux and bowtie with a simple single Calla Lily boutonnière.
Their First Look was in the Concorde Room of the Hay-Adams. It was a nice break from the busyness of getting ready and the couple was about to enjoy an intimate moment to themselves before heading to the ceremony.
A traditional ceremony was held at the All Saints Church in Chevy Chase, Maryland, a venue adorned with a stained glass windows and an alluring stone-wall work interior.
The cocktail hour and reception was held at the Hay-Adams. Cate and Steven arrived just in time for sunset bride and groom portraits on the rooftop of the Hay-Adams. As the sun finally set, the happy couple made their way down to The Hay-Adams room for their introductions.
Glasses were raised, heartwarming toasts were given, and the happiest of wishes were made for Cate and Steven.
This wedding was an absolute dream to photograph and I am so honored to have shared this day with such a loving couple. Thank you a million times to Cate and Steven for treating me like family and allowing me to capture true joy on your wedding day. Cheers to you both!
